GCOM Haiti Mission Trip 2010

Mikall, a member of the BrainStorm Marketing Team, recently headed down to Port-au-Prince, Haiti to embark on a medical humanitarian mission trip to help aid the victims of the January 2010 earthquake. BrainStorm wanted to join in all the preparations and fun, and help contribute to such a remarkable cause. BrainStorm loaded up suitcases and helped send Mikall to Haiti with over 30 soccer balls, BrainStorm Propeller Spinners, medical supplies, clothes, and many other toys for the kids.

"When I got to Haiti, all of the members of GCOM (the organization I went with) were absolutely amazed at BrainStorm's generosity. One of our first stops was Thomazzo Orphanage. When the earthquake hit last January, their entire structure was destroyed, leaving them with only one room that was covered by a roof, and five twin beds to be shared by 40 children. They were absolutely ecstatic when we got there and they saw all the supplies we had. After setting up the clinic and getting all the orphans, as well as the surrounding villagers, the medical attention they needed, we decided it was time to pass out some of the very coveted soccer balls. We had a shootout with the kids and they loved it. If they made a goal, they got to keep the ball. The smiles on their faces were priceless, as they ran over and hugged us and gave thanks for their new gift. They were so grateful, when they have so little.

Over the course of two weeks, we traveled all over Haiti providing assistance wherever and to whoever we could. The supplies that BrainStorm provided truly helped make a difference in a country that is still grief stricken and striving to rebuild itself in an almost hopeless situation. It was truly an incredible experience that I will never forget! Thank You BrainStorm!"
