COURSE OVERVIEW

The Fundamentals of Novell eDirectory (Course 3017) is designed to enable IT professionals to perform directory-related administrative tasks using Novell eDirectory 8.7.3 on a SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 8 Platform. Students will learn the design principles that are key to planning an optimized eDirectory tree for an organization, and the critical infrastructure processes that enable eDirectory to reliably maintain and securely replicate directory data.

eDirectory is a mulit-platform network directory product, but this course uses a single platform, Linux.

PREREQUISITES

The prerequisite knowledge for this course includes: Experience with proprietary operating systems including NetWare 6.5 and Windows 2003

  • Familiarity with a Linux server and management tasks performed on a Linux server
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking technologies such DNS/DHCP, TCP/IP, etc.

AUDIENCE

This course is intended for Network Administrators and other network management professionals who have little or no experience using eDirectory but who are planning to implement eDirectory on a mixed platform or homogeneous platform network.
