By completing the courses in number order you will meet the prerequisites for each subsequent course. Please note however that if you are seeking certification as a Novell Certified Linux Engineer 10 you must first be qualified as a Novell Certified Linux Professional 10.
Course Outline
Novell's Guide to CompTIA's Linux + with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (Course 3064) This course is designed for those who have limited knowledge of the Linux Operating System. It introduces the knowldge and skills needed to work with Linux and prepares students to take the CompTIA Linux + exam.
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Administration (Course 3072) Building on initial experience with Linux, the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Administration (Course 3072) teaches students basic SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 administration skills. Students will learn how to install and configure SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, and how to manage system initialization and processes. Among the topics covered in theis course are Posix ACL's, network configuration, printing and remote access.
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Advanced Administration (Course 3073) This course gives students a deeper understanding of how SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 works. Students will learn how to make their work and their servers more efficient and productive as well as how to turn Linux into a productive system.
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10: Netoworking Services (Course 3074) This course is the first in the Novell CLE 10 curriculum developed for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10. Students following this course should be familiar with the topics covered in the three Novell CLP 10 courses ( 3071, 3072, 3073). This course covers how to install and configure the services that are important in a typical network environment. It is therefore an important course to transition you from a system administrator to a network administrator.
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10: Security (Course 3075) This course focuses on various security related topics of SUSE linux Enterprise Server 10 from a system administrator's perspective. Topics covered include, cryptography, aspects to consider when developing a security policy, as well as the configuration of Novell AppArmor, packet filters, application level gateways, and VPNs using IPSec.
