  • Easily Managing Rogue Forwarding Rules

Easily Managing Rogue Forwarding Rules using Vertigo

We?ve all read about the latest security threat to GroupWise WebAccess. The Register reports:

"One vulnerability allows an attacker to forward all of a user's email simply by sending a specially crafted email, according to Adrian Pastor, an employee for ProCheckUp, a penetration testing firm based in London. The cross-site request forgery bug allows attackers to add new forwarding rules simply by tricking a user into opening the email, no clicking of links necessary."

  • WASP - How it works

  • Secure your GroupWise WebAccess with WASP2

    Are you using GroupWise WebAccess?
    You need WASP2!

    Why do you need WASP?
GroupWise WebAccess bypasses the GWIA gateway when delivering email, communicating directly with the Post Office, delivering email and their attachments into the GroupWise Post Office database. This allows unsuspecting GroupWise WebAccess users to inadvertently upload virus-infected email attachments that bypass your perimeter defense at the GWIA.

  • GWAVACon Success with GroupWise means it costs this year to attend

This is our 5th year in the US for GWAVACon and our 10th GWAVACon worldwide. The conference is still focused on Novell GroupWise but has also become a gathering place for other Novell Collaboration Solutions, including ZENworks, Novell Teaming, and now OES.

Each year the event has grown in numbers and influence. Last year, Ron Hovsepian, Novell CEO was the keynote speaker to a packed room. This year in Berlin, Volker Schmid, President of Novell EMEA was the keynote speaker.

  • Content filters in local languages

    Hi.

I'm from South Africa where we have 11 official languages. I am only fluent in 2 of them!

I recently discovered a gap in my content filters. All of my filters are English based. This leaves 10 other languages unfiltered.

Is it possible for GWAVA to have an open forum where people of different languages can contribute their content filters in their respective languages.

Is it possible to setup a repository of "import" files for content filters in languages other than English?

Just thought this would be a good community project.

    Thanks,

    Kayak

  • How to capture SMS and PIN messages for Compliance

Under Sarbanes-Oxley regulations, as well as a number of other compliancy requirements, a publicly traded company's management is made personally accountable for their company's actions including the effectiveness of their internal auditing.

In fact, this has now extended to the N.C.A.A. who has ruled that the transmission and receipt of SMS/Text messages and PIN messages without an audit trail is in violation of their mandate.

    Problem
SMS and PIN messages never pass through your email systems and therefore will NOT be archived by your email archiving solution. Full audit compliancy has been difficult and time consuming at best.

  • When Good RBLs Go Bad

We've received many support calls this week from customers claiming that our Anti-Spam software was blocking all of their e-mail. Turns out to be true. GWAVA, Guinevere and GWAVIX were blocking all e-mail in certain cases, but there was no bug. They were working perfectly.

The problem was a long dead RBL server called RELAYS.ORDB.ORG. The popular RBL server went offline in late 2006. Basically, the RBL server remained operational, but stopped being maintain or updated. I guess most of us didn't hear the announcement, because thousands of Anti-Spam servers continued to hit RELAYS.ORDB.ORG for RBL information. I assume that's because most admins didn't know that ORDB went offline and/or setup their RBL look ups long ago and simply forgot to check them regularly.
